Alternative Investment has been on highlight since the financial crisis in 2008. As liquidity expanded in market, various funds competitively flowed in alternative assets of which returns turned out to be lucrative, that led to virtuous circle where additional rounds of funds have been raised. Alternative Investment is no longer ‘alternative’ but mainstream.
However, alternative investment is now on trial. As global economy slowed down, investment environment has been deteriorating. Though it seems that all investments perform decent in high tide, the bottom is revealed in low tide.
In such environment, institutional investors such as NPS(National Pension Service) agonize over strategies regarding asset allocation and selection in a whole context. It has been criticized that a big picture such as improvement in the quality of manpower and investment environment is necessary.
